Designer’s handbook for dry bearings

GGB, formerly Glacier Garlock Bearings, offers a new designer’s handbook for its line of DU®/DU®-B dry bearings for applications involving rotating, oscillating, reciprocating and sliding movements. The light, compact bearings require no lubrication and provide maintenance-free operation, high load-carrying capacity and low wear rate. In addition, they offer good frictional properties with negligible stick-slip, resist solvents, and do not absorb moisture. The 50-page publication provides comprehensive technical information on these products, allowing designers to determine the correct bearing size, expected life and performance in their applications. Covered are characteristics and advantages, materials, performance, data for bearing design calculations, lubrication, assembly, modification, standard offerings and test methods.
